01What this is

Campaign Copilot is a set of AI skills for the people who run campaigns: field organizers, finance staff, comms leads, and the consultants who support them. Each one turns a repeatable campaign task into something you hand to Claude and get back in minutes instead of hours. It is free, open source, and installable in 5 mins or less.

02What is a skill?

New to this? Here is the whole idea.

A skill is just a folder with a short instruction file inside, written in plain English, that teaches Claude how to do one specific campaign task the right way.

Claude always reads the one-line description, and only loads the full instructions when your request matches. So an installed skill sits quietly and costs almost nothing until the moment you need it. You set the pack up once, then ask for a fundraising email or a debate prep doc and get back something that already understands how campaigns work.

On claude.ai

Start here for most people

Works on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Skills are per user, so each person uploads their own.

    Download the pack from GitHub and unzip it. Each skill is its own folder with a SKILL.md inside.
  2. 02
    Turn on code execution first. Open Settings > Capabilities and enable Code execution and file creation. Skills do not work without it.
  3. 03
    Zip a single skill folder. Start with campaign-setup. The skill folder must sit at the root of the zip, not inside an extra parent folder, or the upload fails.

    In claude.ai, open Customize > Skills and upload the zip.
  5. 05
    Repeat for any other skills you want, then just ask. Claude uses a skill automatically when your request matches it.

In Claude Code or the desktop app

    Clone or download the pack from GitHub.
  2. 02
    Copy each skill folder into your skills directory. Everywhere: ~/.claude/skills/. One project only: .claude/skills/.

    Claude Code picks it up automatically. Changes take effect in your current session, no restart. If the skills folder did not exist when you started, restart once.

    Invoke it: ask in plain language, or type /campaign-setup.

Then: run it

    Run campaign-setup first. It captures your race, candidate, and message into one reusable profile every other skill reads from.
  2. 02
    Ask for the work. Every skill reuses that profile, so you never re-explain your race.
Use fundraising-generator to draft a 3-touch end-of-quarter ask for past donors.
